How my journey began
I have been a yoga instructor for 13 years, a journey that began while I worked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Los Angeles. It was my first job in the entertainment industry, and I often faced grueling 15-hour days, running around in a whirlwind. One of my roles involved scouting talented individuals to fill the audience for the show. One memorable day, my team discovered a remarkable 70-something-year-old yoga instructor who could effortlessly perform the scorpion pose, so we had her put a hat with her feet for the episode. This woman exuded calmness and serenity; she knew how to manage her stress, and I found myself wanting to embody her poise. The very next day, I stepped onto the mat for my first yoga class.
Two years later, I became a certified instructor, balancing my teaching with work at production companies for an additional four years until I could finally pursue my dream of teaching full-time. Yoga has taught me invaluable lessons in self-acceptance, appreciation, and kindness. It provided me with essential tools to cope with stress and anxiety, allowing me to navigate life's uncertainties with grace.
After three years of teaching, I sought to prepare for the future and obtained certifications in prenatal and postnatal yoga. I discovered my passion for supporting individuals through this beautiful yet intense transition. My clients in Los Angeles affectionately dubbed me their “Friend Bully” because I help eliminate the awkwardness of making new friends by pairing people who are at similar stages of pregnancy or have babies of similar ages. I would encourage them, saying, “You should be friends; you’ll want to text each other in the middle of the night!” I’m delighted to share that many of my clients have maintained the wonderful connections they made in my yoga classes. This embodies the essence of new parenthood—fostering camaraderie and connection, which I aim to cultivate in my class at Belly Bliss.
In 2022, I relocated to Denver with my husband and best friend, Mark, along with our amazing 3¾-year-old daughter, Jade.
I’ve always specialized in pre and postnatal yoga, but in 2021 I got a bit more experience under my belt and had a baby! This is Jade and she likes to assist in some of my classes.
