The bottom line is that at 72 years old I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. It has taken time but honesty, I’m shocked. I’ve never been enthusiastic about any kind of exercise and I’m surprised at my attitude related to yoga as it is such an important part of my life now. I’m just happier and feel better and definitely have more gratitude! I started with Erin over two years ago. We did chair yoga since I was not confident enough to start off with yoga poses without the chair even though I had no physical issues that would have held me back. It didn’t take long for my confidence level to increase as Erin gently encouraged me to try new things, always starting off with “How is your Body feeling today?” The chair was gone weeks later and since then I’ve been on a journey to really strengthen the muscles and increase flexibility. Initially, I felt a little anxiety prior to the class and now I’m feeling more confident and enjoying this time for “me!” A huge accomplishment.
The one-on-one instruction makes all the difference. The individual attention seems to increase the level of focus and concentration. At the end of each session I still have the same feeling – that I can’t believe I worked that hard! Erin has a special way of gently challenging me so that I want to do my best. Then I’m delighted that her encouragement helped me to do what I had thought may have been impossible. She is fun loving and compassionate and a joy to work with. These attributes create a relaxed and trusting relationship and atmosphere thus making the learning process easier and more enjoyable.
I’m still working full time and hope to work another five years! I have a newfound zest for life and I couldn’t be more thankful or surprised! It gives me peace of mind to know I’m accepting the help and doing the best I can. The rewards make it all worth it.”
